By supporting reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills through a holistic approach, the program prepares students for an effective learning experience in their undergraduate studies. The program adopts a student-centered, communicative, and academically-focused approach to language teaching.
Degree Awarded
This program does not confer an academic degree. The foreign language lessons offered by the School of Foreign Languages are supportive and complementary educational activities designed to help students acquire the foreign language and academic language skills necessary to successfully pursue their undergraduate programs.
Registration and Admission Requirements

Students who pass the proficiency exam or meet the in-year success criteria earn the right to proceed to their undergraduate programs.
In the General English and Academic English courses integrated into undergraduate programs, students are expected to meet the success requirements of the respective courses and pass according to the course evaluation criteria. These courses are considered part of the mandatory or elective courses that directly contribute to undergraduate graduation.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who achieve the minimum scores set by the university senate on national and international foreign language exams recognized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) may be exempted from the Foreign Languages Preparatory Program in accordance with relevant regulations.
